Crankies!

Crankies

I've been playing around with making crankies (moving panoramas) since 2018. I've made 3 ghost stories, 2 "made for digital" Winnipeg Kids Fringe shows where the Crankie elements existed as dreams and beginning/end titles. All of these were created using acrylic paint and parchment paper. I recently made 1 fabric (muslin) crankie meant for kids to play with at Christmas at Dalnavert Museum. I used acrylic paint and had to join fabric together with safety pins because I didn't have the sewing stuff! I've made a tutorial video with Dr. Vanessa Warne that has been shown across the country at different universities. I have also been a featured artist on Crafting Communities "Crafternoons" and have been recorded for the Victorian Samplings podcast.

Echo Theatre has created and performed on this land that is the traditional lands and waterways of the Anishinaabeg, Nehethowak, Anishininew, Ininew, Nehiyaw, Denesuline, and Dakota Oyate and the Homeland of the Red River Metis. We take care in remembering the gift and responsibility it is to create and tell stories here.
